Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMC) is a premier, historic government medical school in Bangladesh, established in 1968. Initially known as Barisal Medical College, it is located in the southern port city of Barisal (Barishal). As a constituent college academically affiliated with the prestigious University of Dhaka, SBMC is one of the oldest, largest, and most revered state-run institutions for healthcare education, medical research, and tertiary clinical care in Bangladesh.
