History of Army Medical College, Bogra (AMCB)

Army Medical College, Bogra (AMCB) began its journey on 28 September 2014 after receiving the necessary approval from the Government of Bangladesh. Within just three and a half months, the infrastructure was completed, and the inauguration ceremony was held on 10 January 2015 alongside four other Army Medical Colleges.

The academic year 2014–2015 officially commenced with the active support and inspiration of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the then Chief of Staff of the Bangladesh Army, Gen. Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, and Maj. Gen. AKM Abdullahil Baquee, ndu, psc, Area Commander of Bogra Area and Chairman of the Governing Body of AMCB, along with all the doctors and staff of the college. On 11 January 2015, classes for the 2014–2015 session began with 50 students.

AMCB is a private medical college under the administration of the Bangladesh Army, managed by a Governing Body consisting of representatives from the Bangladesh Army, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), and local members from the health sector of the Bangladesh government.


Aim of Army Medical College, Bogra

The college follows the MBBS curriculum as prescribed by the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). Professional examinations are conducted by BUP, and the MBBS degree is awarded by them.

Established by the Bangladesh Army, the college embodies the noble ideology of nurturing high-quality healthcare providers who are capable of serving both the nation and the community.
